Sudorifics or diaphoretics are surface-resolving drugs.
“Surface-resolving” means to disperse and dispel surface evils.
When the human body is subjected to the influence and affliction of
foreign pathological factors such as wind, chills, moisture, and summer
heat, it develops such symptoms as chillphobia, fever, headache, stiff
neck and shoulders, generalized aching, limbic asthenia, and hidrosis or
anhidrosis. Drugs that relieve or eliminate these symptoms are known as
“surface-resolving” drugs or sudorifics. By inducing perspiration these
drugs relieve muscular aches and pains.
Sudorifics are categorized into Acrid-warm Sudorifics and Acrid-cool
Sudorifics according to their particular essence, flavour and clinical
symptoms.
